Sharing the Love!

I know, I have been absent lately, nearly a month.  My mom has been ill and I traveled to California to take care of her.  Now I'm home and anxious to get back into my blog!

Usually Friday posts are for 'Friday (Etsy) Finds', but since today is Valentines Day, I am sharing the love, by promoting just one fellow Etsyian!  Gwen has been on Etsy for about a year with personal care products that she originally made for gifts.  She says:  "It happened more and more that I was asked 'Do you have any extra to sell?' Friday Finds for Spring!

I'm taking my cue from a fellow blogger friend, Edi, of Memories for Life Scrapbooks. (P.S. she's also one of my sponsors!)  She did a post today on Friday Finds in pink and aqua.  I loved the Springy theme and so I decided to do one in Pink and Yellow.  I've been working quite a lot lately with yellow fabrics, so I thought it would be fun to play around adding pink!  Enjoy!

Inspiration from a Friday Finds Post

Last week I did a "Friday Finds" post on yellow and pink color combinations--well, fuchsia and lemon, to be exact!  Anyway, it inspired me to do a quilt block in those colors.  I showed you the block in that post.

So, what did I do with it?  Take a look!

I appliqued some Mexican Hat flowers to it, then quilted the top, added a backing and, voila! I have a new pillow cover for Spring!

I keep a little twelve inch accent pillow on my couch and change out the covers for each season. I did a pillow cover tutorial, back in December, about my holiday pillow cover.  Remember that little snowman one?  Sew. . . .

Friday Finds for Christmas

hang your hat!

How about hanging up your Santa Hat somewhere in your room, instead of keeping it in a box until you need it for a party or costume!?  It provides a little intrigue and whimsy!   And you will smile when you see it!
