In the United States, this weekend is the Labor Day weekend holiday. This holiday was a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. Most everyone has Monday off; so, when people get off work on Friday (as early as possible) they head to the mountains to go camping, to the beach for one last day in the sun before school, or make plans to have family and friends over for barbecue! I just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday, and ask y'all to be safe when traveling the congested roadways! Have fun!
Leave a comment about your plans! I'd like to hear about the differences. It will be fun!

dang! I'm in a hotel room with DH and dog, waiting for them to start cleaning the house fire. And because it's a holiday weekend, they won't start until Tuesday. Seems par for the course!
Hope things are better for you now, storybeader. As for me, my car chose this long weekend to die so I had to go emergency car shopping instead of to a living history reenactment where people dress in Revolutionary War garb, or as mountain men or Native Americans (Seneca Iroquois is how I would dress given part of my heritage.) As it was, I'm thankful to have a job to go to these days, that's a decent reason to celebrate Labor Day in my book. And unknown strangers paid for my meal this weekend in an Italian restaurant.
Linda, how was your Holiday Weekend?
We had a nice weekend with my family. I am grateful that my husband enjoys spending so much time with them--I hope the kids will have great memories of their grandparents.
