Shop Preparations

Preparations are marching right along and almost complete for my new shop,

  Abigail Jayne Art.

Finished working on the new banner !  Looks presentable, I think!

I built it to NOT detract from the art presented in the shop.  I originally did a collage, much the same as my banner in my Creations shop, but I decided that it wasn't very interesting, nor was it artsy!  It will more about photography than anything; it was displayed on my empty shop for about a month, so I guess it served it's purpose, if anyone visited and wondered what I sell.

Shop is ready to open on Monday the 15th (I know tax day!)  I am excited to share my art work with the world. Initially the shop will carry my textile art, under the name of my art pseudonym, but eventually I might add my water color art prints, ACEO's and greeting cards.  Several of my readers have asked if I was going to sell my watercolor art. I still haven't decided about that--we will see!

First things first--shop open on Monday!

Winter Decorations

I know that we usually decorate for Christmas, then endure winter, until we start yearning for Spring!  But winter is an awesomely beautiful time if you just look for the beauty.  Several of my blogger friends have done  posts with gorgeous photos of winter scenes!  (Better to be looking at the pictures than be out in the freezing cold, tee hee!) Anyway, I decided to encourage you to decorate for the winter season--just a little something to remind you daily that winter can be awesome, not just cold! something to remind you to get outside and take pictures!  Here's my simple snowflake decorated window:

Saturday Show

Grrrrrrhhhhh . . . .  I'm having such trouble with my camera!!  Most of my photos are coming out blurry lately!  Same camera, but I can't figure out what's going on!  Okay, enough of the temper tantrum for today! 

Anyway, I did a community charity show on Saturday and it was HOT!  The good thing was it was out on a grassy field -- that helped. The show didn't have as many people attend as they were hopin' for, so sales were not good as I had planned. 

My granddaughter, Kayleigh, helped with the show.  She also sold friendship bracelets; she's raising money to be an exchange student in her Junior year.  She hopes to go to Taiwan or Japan.  And I got to use the new banner that I made with the help of Edi of Memories for Life Scrapbooking. I sent her fabric pieces backed with a fusible interfacing and she cut out the letters with her laser machine.  When I got them back, I mounted them on the muslin triangles and finished it up with some bias binding in red. Didn't it turn out great?! (Sorry about the fuzzy picture!)

I hung several of my quilts (also for sale) and they created some shade and some color!  Plus, quilts always seem to draw customers in to take a look!

I also previewed a new item!  Yoyo decorated Flip Flops!  They were a hit! (again a fuzzy picture! grrrrrrh)

The sun zapped all my strength and I slept for nearly the rest of the weekend.  How was your weekend?

The Fab Miss B

Holiday Banner HOW-TO

Although this was a Spring theme, it can be adapted to make a Christmas banner. Mine uses a Christmas fabric, that I cut up. I put them on the bags and added comments with puffy paint. Then I hot glued them to seam binding, tied a loop in each end of the seam binding and hung it from the finials on my curtain! Now I'm festive! You can be too! Try it! If you don't have the time, I have one available in my shop! And it is on sale!
