Shop Closing

Over the last few years, I have made jewelry.  It's been a fun experience, but I now see the need to
"narrow my repertoire".  Fabric has taken over my passion, so I will be closing my Design shop for good! Everything left in my shop is drastically reduced!  Use Coupon Code in the shop announcement for current discount.

Here's a reminiscent look a a few of my favorite pieces.

Please take a look, there is more than just jewelry in my shop -- it all has to go by Jan 31st!
Thanks for looking!

Recently, the Etsybloggers Street Team had a Journal swap. (See several other posts about the project.)
Anyway, I got a beautiful handmade journal from Debby of Storybeader. I loved reading her story and finding out that she lives just a few miles from where my mother's family settled when they came to America. It's a small world, really!

Anyway, in the secret portion of the diary, There was an envelope of pretty lime colored beads. It took me a while to get done, but I had purposed to make a little bracelet for myself to remember Debby's generosity and to remember the Journal Swap project. I had enough beads to also finish a pair of earrings! So here are the results:

Thanks, Deb!

Necklace????

For the last several weeks, I have been accumulating the necessary beads and components to make myself a necklace. I've been looking forward to creating a beautiful piece. Today I started it . . . and stopped creating it! It just wasn't turning out like I intended. Has that even happened to you? I'm sure that it has. We have a definite creative idea in our minds, but translating it into being is another story! So . . . . I am turning my work into a bracelet that I will eventually put up for sale in my design shop. Oh well . . . .

Winner!

My "What Flavor Am I?" contest has been a "toughie", as one person put it. I know that it was, but it has been fun! I have particularly enjoyed your comments. Some have been confused, some insightful, some uplifting to me personally. I thank you for that.

This little contest has given me a chance to try my hand at writing rhymes. I know, I'm not very good at verse; my husband is a natural at poems. But I had fun giving it a try. So, what were the clues more specifically?

There were opposites in the first poem, thus sweet and tangy.
the word sour in the second poem,
"Bounds, fully bounded" means it has a rind.
The color was not blue as in "true blue" but . . .
the color of the bracelet . . . lime!

So, our winner is Beth of Sunshine Daydreamz. She has an awesome etsy shop by the same name. Congratulations Beth!

Bracelets Galore!

I read that bracelets are not as popular a jewelry item as earrings (1st) and necklaces (2nd). I like bracelets! I have a larger wrist size than most people; I'm not a cute little thing anymore so most average bracelets don't fit comfortably. Therefore . . . . I make bracelets that are at least 8 inches, sometimes 8 1/2 inches in length. (I can shorten them for those of you who are a little more slight of frame! :))

Anyway, I will be listing quite a few more bracelets in the days to come, since I enjoy making them. That's not to say that I won't be listing necklaces and earrings, since I make those too! but my current passion seems to be bracelets! Check 'um out!
