Tillamook Cheese

Last week, I decided to go with my hubby on a sales run to the Oregon Coast, specifically to Tillamook Oregon. Actually it is on the bay. I really didn't get a chance to see the ocean, but I did get to spend time at the Tillamook Creamery and Cheese Factory. It was overrun with customers, since it was the height of the summer vacation time. Everywhere everyone was busily taking in the sights while making plenty of sound of their own! No need for ambient music!
After taking the self-guided tour from the elevated glass enclosed second floor viewing area above the operating factory, the treat of the day seemed to be ICE CREAM for everyone but me! There were long lines to get heaping portions of ice cream, so I chose cheese Tilla-Moos and a hazelnut latte! Tilla-Moos are snack size individually wrapped 10 oz portions of your favorite cheese - - I chose Colby Jack! By the way, sorry the factory picture is "cheese colored" the lights in the factory were of a yellow tinge that my camera caught! hee! hee! For more information about Tillamook Cheese, you can check out this site!

I remember Tillamook cheese! yummy! We stopped there once on a vacation in Oregon. I was traveling with my husband and 2 kids. One morning, we left our hotel and headed out on the road. Before we had breakfast we spotted the cheese factory. So we stopped. Unbeknownst to my husband and me, our kids, who were medium-old at the time, had bought ice cream cones. It only took a few minutes for us to cogitate on that. Ice cream for breakfast? sure! After all, what is cereal with milk, but ice cream in a cone! (just more of the dairy and less of the cereal)
